Many years ago in an old garage on La Jolla's Cove a cafe serving specialty drinks called IL Covo was in bankruptcy. A young designer who was raised in La Jolla had just arrived home from studies in France. He longed for the French Cafe he spent years studying in. He came across the Cafe in trouble and went to the court where he was awarded the right to assume operations and given 10 minutes to come up with a new name for the Cafe.

He thought about the Cove where he would swim as child and the historic names for all the surf spots, then was born Goldfish Point Cafe, named after the historic cliffs it now sits atop. His creative side gave life to the logo and the two playful goldfish Vinnie and Aldo. You can find Vinnie and Aldo dancing around the cafe dressed up in their surf gear, swimming in their goldfish bowl, skateboarding and yes drinking their coffee.

Today the Cafe has been the study place for many University of California San Diego student, and rest place residents and visitors.

You must come in and say Bonjour to Vinnie and Aldo when in La Jolla...................
